5th CMEF and 2nd ICMD Break Attendance Records While Offering Vast Technical Insight

With more than 48,000 visitors, the China International Medical Fair (CMEF) in Shenzhen, China keeps growing more massive with the momentum it’s built. As the 55th edition of this exhibition and conference, the CMEF hosted more than 1,800 exhibitors and offered a look at today’s cutting-edge technology in the medical device industry. Along with this event, the second International Component Manufacturing & Design (ICMD) show drew another 117 exhibitors.

These events are increasingly becoming an important international meeting place, as representatives from dozens of countries were attracted to the convergence of local and international companies looking to strike new business deals and learn about what’s coming down the pipeline in medical technology.

Jack Johnston, the export sales manager of Salzmann Medico in Switzerland, noted, “We came to find agents in China and were very successful in covering the entire country. The quality of the visitors was very high, and we can certainly recommend the [CMEF] show to any company wanting to enter the Chinese market.” Many others echoed the sentiment that this event marked an occasion to learn more about the potential of the Chinese market and surrounding areas.

The show had six national pavilions from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, United Kingdom and Korea, compared to only four at the last show. It also attracted many first time exhibitors among countries such as Japan, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Egypt, Thailand, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Lithuania and others.

International leading device manufacturers represented at this event included top companies such as GE, Siemens, Johnson & Johnson Medical, Toshiba, Hitachi, Kodak and Fuji.

More than 20 technical sessions and forums also offered visitors insight into digital medical and healthcare information technology, among other pertinent topics.
